Urban models and Remote sensing

Remote sensing data capture

  • The first step for an accurate risk assessment is a precise remote sensing data capture.
  • We use small unmanned aircraft systems (drones) for photo capture and videos.
  • We take billions of high-precision photos to ensemble the urban models.
  • We utilize the latest technologies in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones), including lidar data capture equipment.

These capacities allow us to develop accurate urban models and can also be applied to support:

  • surveying projects,
  • inspections of constructions,
  • ultraviolet assessment of roofs for waterproofing,
  • identification of cracks in buildings and bridges,
  • real-time follow-up and inspection of construction projects for quality control and financial control purposes.

Accurate Urban models

Flying missions

Orthomosaics 2D and 3D models

Orthomosaics 2D and 3D models

  • Flying missions are carefully planned,  including airspace analysis and all required FAA authorizations, and any legal requirement.
  •  The available deliverables include inspection reports, 360 bubbles, orthophotos, image and video catalogs, and CAD/GIS files.

The second step is to develop photogrammetric models and videos that allow a visual detailed inspection of buildings

Topography (DSM and DTM)

Topography (DSM and DTM)

The models include a precise topography in two possible versions: Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and the Digital Surface Model (DSM). These models are required for losses assessments, in particular for flooding estimations.

Seawalls

Topography (DSM and DTM)

Data capture allows the creation of sea wall models. These precise models include accurate dimensions and allow the assessment of the structural condition of the sea walls, providing conditions for flooding models and sea-level rise analysis.

3D high precision models

A high-resolution 3D mesh was created to help with the visual inspection of each building.

King Tides and flooding

Some of the worst flooding conditions happen during the King Tides, which generally occur three times a year (NOAA). These flooding conditions show how the sea level rise will affect coastline communities.
